The root cause of virtually all spiritual failure is disobedience in the little things. Over a period of time your spiritual strength is compromised and then when a crisis of temptation arises, you simply do not have the will to resist. To the undiscerning it may appear that you were brought down by that final crisis, but in reality, it was the dry rot of disobedience that did you in.

Lord Jesus, teach us to be obedient in all things, both large and small, that we may have the strength to stand in the hour of temptation. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
