Have you ever gotten ahead of God and made a mess of things? If you have, you’re in good company. When Moses was forty years old, he saw an Egyptian overseer abusing a Hebrew slave and in a fit of anger he killed him. He assumed that would make him a hero to the Hebrew slaves, but he was wrong (Acts 7:25). When he tried to help them, they rejected him saying, “‘Who made you ruler and judge over us?’” (Acts 7:27). Moses ended up spending the next forty years as a fugitive on the backside of the desert, but that’s not the end of the story.
“God’s gifts and God’s call are…never canceled, never rescinded.”
— Romans 11:29 (MSG)
Lord Jesus, I am so thankful You never give up on us. Amen.
