The Christmas story is both good news and bad news. First the bad news. Sin—our sins—separated us from God. There was nothing we could do. We could not save ourselves. Our fate was sealed! Now the good news. Because we could not go to God, He came to us in the person of Jesus Christ. He became one of us! “‘For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord’” (Luke 2:11 ESV).

Lord Jesus, thank You for becoming the son of man that we might become the sons of God. Amen.
