When we find ourselves amid cruel sufferings—be they physical afflictions or adverse circumstances—we are often tempted to give up. Rather than persevere we are ready to throw in the towel, to put a period where God has only placed a comma. Don’t! At least not yet. No matter how tough your situation is, God can turn it around.

Lord Jesus, strengthen us in our hour of need. Remind us of the many times You have rescued us when our situation seemed hopeless. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
