Think about it. Job’s wife lost everything—her children, her wealth, her prestige and now her once influential husband is an outcast sitting in an ash heap scrapping his running sores with a piece of broken pottery. Little wonder that she had a crisis of faith. Little wonder that she encouraged Job to curse God and die. But Job had a better idea. Instead of cursing God he offered a sacrifice of praise!

“Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.”

— Job 1:20-21 (NKJV)

When hard times come, we have a choice. We can be like Job’s wife who told him to curse God and die or we can be like Job who fell to the ground and worshipped.

Lord, help us to worship You even when we can’t understand Your ways. Amen.
