Let me ask you a question. Are you a called person or a driven person? To help you decide let me give you some clues. A driven person is ambitious, a called person is obedient. A driven person is impatient, he takes the “bull by the horns” and tries to make things happen. A called person is patient. He waits on the Lord’s timing before he acts. A driven person gets things done but there is often a trail of wounded people in his wake. A called person, on the other hand, succeeds without stepping on others.

Lord, replace our self-serving ambition with a holy obedience. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
