Since a “word of knowledge” often comes as a random thought, it is wise to remember that we may get it wrong. Therefore we should carefully consider how we share what the Spirit has revealed to us. For instance the brother who received the word—“God’s hates mommies and daddies”—moved cautiously. He was careful to point out that it didn’t appear to line up with scripture and he confessed that he didn’t understand what it meant. He encouraged the others to carefully judge his word. As it turned out it was a life giving word bringing healing to a young woman who had been sexually abused by her father.

“Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.”

— 1 Corinthians 14:29 (NIV)

Lord Jesus, give me the faith to act even when I do not fully understand what the Spirit is revealing to me. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
