The supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit can be divided into three categories.
1) The revelation gifts—a word of wisdom, a word of knowledge, and the discerning of spirits.
2) The power gifts—gifts of healing, the working of miracles and the gift of faith.
3) The utterance gifts—prophecy, tongues, and the interpretation of tongues. It is the Holy Spirit who determines who receives what gift, nevertheless the apostle Paul instructs us to “…earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.”
