Today’s devotion focuses on “Leadership Lessons from Moses.” Lesson number one: Don’t resort to fleshly methods in an attempt to accomplish spiritual objectives. “When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites. He saw one of them being mistreated by an Egyptian, so he went to his defense and avenged him by killing the Egyptian” (Acts 7:23-24). As a result, Moses’ was forced to flee for his life and the emancipation of the was delayed forty years. Is there a leadership lesson for us? Absolutely—the secret to success in the Lord’s work is to do it His way and in His timing.

“This is the word of the Lord…’Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”

— Zechariah 4:6 (NIV)

Lord, help us to do it Your way. Amen.
