When Moses was meeting with God on mount Saini, he asked the Lord to show him His glory.
The Lord responded by saying, “I will cause all of my goodness to pass in front of you…” (Exodus 33:19). I don’t know what Moses was expecting, some kind of a power demonstration perhaps. Instead of a power demonstration the Lord showed Moses His goodness. Think about it. As far as the Lord is concerned His “goodness” is His glory!
“Then the Lord came and…he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.'”
— Exodus 34:5-7 (NIV)
God almighty, help us to tremble in awe even as we glory in Your goodness. Amen.
