Ephesians 6:16 commands us to “Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” The flaming arrows of the devil come in all shapes and sizes. There are arrows of disappointment, hardship, failure, and betrayal to name just a few. If those arrows pierce our hearts we risk discouragement, bitterness and even the loss of our faith. Only the shield of faith can protect us.

Lord help us to remember that You work in every situation for our good lest we lose heart. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
