Being born again (John 3:3) is instantaneous! Being conformed to the image of Christ is a lifelong process (Romans 8:29). Nathan’s Law (from psychologist Nathan Brody) says, “Individuals [who are] constantly in the presence of someone who is very different than they are, will eventually change and become like them.” So, if we want to change, we should spend extended periods of time in the Lord’s presence. If we consistently spend time with Him one of us will change and I can assure you it’s not going to be the Lord.
“We…are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV 1984)
Lord, leave me forever marked with this meeting, stamped indelibly with the evidence of your presence. Amen.
