When Jesus prayed, “…not as I will, but as you will.” (Mt. 26:39) He was surrendering His desires and expectations to the Father’s will. Given your current crisis what do you need to surrender? Do you need to surrender your hurt and confusion, even your anger? You may also need to give God your predetermined expectations—that is your hopes and your dreams. Remember, surrender doesn’t mean you are giving up. It just means that while you continue to pray for a miracle you leave the nature of the miracle to the wisdom of God.

Lord we may never understand why things happened the way they did, but despite that we choose to trust You. Amen.
