Forgiving those who have sinned against us should not be too difficult if we realize how much the Lord has forgiven us. No matter what injustice or betrayal we have suffered it pales in comparison to the sins we have committed against our Lord. At some time in our life, we have all trampled the Son of God under foot. We have treated the blood of the covenant that sanctified us as an unholy thing, and we have insulted the Spirit of grace. Yet the Lord “does not treat us as our sins deserve…as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us” (Ps. 103:10 & 12).

Lord enable us to do what we cannot do ourselves. Empower us to forgive those who have sinned against us. Amen.
