I believe God loves us even when we are at our sinful worst. Why? Because beneath our obnoxious behavior, cleverly camouflaged by our willfulness, God sees something of Himself. Only a shadow perhaps, but undeniable just the same. His eternal likeness is there, planted deep in the soil of our soul, waiting only for the sunshine of His love to cause it to spring forth, a tender plant of rare beauty.
God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them

reflecting our nature.”
So God created human beings;
he created them godlike,
Reflecting God’s nature.
He created them male and female.
Father God it is sometimes hard to believe we are made in Your image given our willfulness and sinful choices. Breathe new life in us that we may reflect Your persona. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
