As I write this the Delta variant of Covid-19 is spiking and hospitals are running out of ICU beds. Wild fires are destroying towns in California leaving thousands homeless, a flash flood has demolished a town in Tennessee, and there’s a crisis on our southern border. In Afghanistan NATO allies are frantically trying to evacuate their citizens before the Taliban takes them hostage. I could continue, but I think you get my point. Still, as grim as things are there’s no reason to panic.
“Listen, all you people…!This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged…for the battle is not yours, but God’s.’”
— 2 Chronicles 20:15 (NLT)
Lord Jesus, help us to realize that no matter how desperate things may become the battle is Yours not ours. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
