Do I have any regrets as I reflect back on my 74 year sojourn on this earth? A few. I wish I had been less full of myself. I wish I had invited people to receive Jesus every time I preached. I wish I had prayed for my family more faithfully. I wish I had been a better friend. I wish I had been a more Godly man. I’m tempted to say, “If only I had…” but instead I have determined to say, “Next time I will be a better friend and a more Godly man. Next time I will…”
“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has…considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.”
— 1 Timothy 1:12 (NIV 1984)
Lord Jesus, thank you for delivering us from regret. Replace it with hope. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
