Joy is a many-splendored thing – a strange and wonderful mixture of love and laughter, pain and sorrow, life and death. It’s the comfort of friends when you stand beside the open grave of the one you’ve loved and lived with your whole life long. It’s the strength of Scripture in the dark hour of unspeakable need. It’s the memory of His faithfulness, the promise of His presence. Joy is a many-splendored thing.
“But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us….”
— 2 Corinthians 7:6
Lord Jesus, we thank You for family and friends who have stood with us in the hour of our unspeakable need. Truly You have comforted us through them. Now make us a comfort to others. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
