Although you may pride yourself on being be a positive person, you may still experience the “dark night of the soul.” At least that’s what happened to me. But I did not despair, for like Elijah I heard the “still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12-23) and it spoke life to me. I pray I never return to that dark place, but I also realize it may be impossible to experience the fullness of God’s grace expect in times of extreme difficulty.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV 1984)
Lord Jesus, help us to never forget that it is better to walk in darkness with you than to walk in the light alone. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
