When compliments come my way, I’m always careful to pass them on to the One to whom all glory belongs. It’s a discipline I learned from the late Corrie ten Boom. When she received a compliment she would say, “Thank you. I’ll put that in my bouquet.” When asked to explain she would say, “I think of every compliment as a flower. At the end of the day I arrange them into a bouquet and present them to Jesus.”

“Then Mary took…an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.”

— John 12:3

Lord Jesus, all glory and honor belong to You. Whatever awards or honors come our way we lay at Your feet. Receive our gifts of worship. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
